Original Thinkers is a carefully curated festival that melds art, ideas and films into an unforgettable four-day experience in Telluride, Colorado October 1-11, 2020. The festival looks at the intersection of ideas and story, believing that there are enormous life lessons in our everyday lives.
The “Our Inner Cinema” program is an exploration of the human brain, how it evolves, new ways of communication, and how the brain is affected by technology and social media, among other topics. Speakers include: Alexandra Rieger, a neuroscientist at the renowned MIT Media Lab, who is concerned that we are losing touch with ourselves. Adam Horowitz, who studies dreams and believes that “technology can show us part of ourselves that remain otherwise invisible, opening doors to introspection, wellness and wonder.” Filmmaker Jeff Orlowski whose most recent film is The Social Dilemma, which can be seen on Netflix and looks at the pernicious effects of social media. Rounding out this show is The Missfits, an inspiring documentary about a squad of girls who aspire to be scientists. This journey into our own unknown will make you reconsider so much of what happens inside our heads when we are awake and asleep.
